Membership Application

Who can apply for a SMAC?

Individuals aged 18 and above can apply for a SMAC membership. Those who are below 18 years old can still join, provided that their parents/guardians sign the "Parental / Guardian Consent" upon registration of their SMAC.

How can I apply?

Here are two ways on how you can apply for a SMAC membership:

  • In-store: Go to any cashier counter of The SM Store, select SM Supermarket or SM Hypermarket; or any Customer Service Counter inside SM Malls.
  • Online: Visit the SMAC website at www.smadvantage.com.

Membership fee is P200, which is good for 5 years.

How long does my membership last?

Your SMAC membership is valid for five (5) years.

How to I activate my SMAC?

To activate your card, text SMACACT16-digit card number to 2256.

Your 16-digit card number can be found at the back of your SMAC or SMAC Prestige.

How do I personalize my SMAC?

To personalize your SMAC, go to the Customer Service Counter of any The SM Store branch and provide your membership information. Your name will be printed in your card within minutes.

What should I do in case my card becomes defective?

Should your SMAC not work, you may go to the nearest Customer Service Counter and request for a replacement card.

SMAC carries a three-month warranty (from date of activation) against faulty smart chips or magnetic strips, during which time no fee will be charged for card replacement. After the three-month warranty period, replacement of cards with faulty chips or magnetic strips will be charged P80.

The warranty does not cover damage resulting from abuse, misuse and negligence on the part of the member. Therefore, the replacement fee of P80 will still be charged even within the three-month warranty period if the SMAC shows signs of physical damage (i.e., folded, warped, or scratched, etc.).

How do I earn SMAC points?

Present your SMAC to the cashier before any purchase transaction at any SMAC partner brands. Each point has a standard redemption value of P1.00. The standard redemption value for each partner can be read here.

I spent less than the minimum required amount of P200. Will I still earn points?

Yes, you can still earn a fraction of a point for purchases less than P200. Present your SMAC at the cashier to credit the corresponding points to your account.

How long does it take for points to be credited to my account?

It takes seven (7) to ten (10) days for points and transactions to be reflected on your account.

How can I check my SMAC points balance?

  • Visit any cashier or Customer Service Counter of The SM Store, SM Markets, Watsons, or partner establishments
  • Call SMAC Assist at the following numbers:

Will my SMAC points expire?

Yes. All unused SMAC points expire 90 days after the expiration of the membership. Points that you have not redeemed before expiration are automatically forfeited. On the other hand, if you renew before the expiration date, all unused points will be transferred to your new SMAC.

How can I redeem my points?

SMAC points, like cash, can be used to pay for your purchases at any SM cashier counter. A minimum balance of 20 points is needed to start redeeming rewards.

When can I start using my SMAC points for redemption?

You can start using your points to redeem reward/s upon accumulation of at least 20 points. You may also choose to accumulate more points to redeem items of higher value.

Can I transfer my SMAC points?

Yes, you can transfer your points to another SMAC or SMAC Prestige member.

How do I transfer points?

To transfer your points, you may call SMAC Assist at the following numbers:

Yes, they expire like regular points.

I just changed my marital status. How do I apply for a new card with my new surname on?

To update your surname, you may visit the Customer Service Counter at any branch of The SM Store and present a valid ID reflecting both your old and new surnames. A replacement fee of P80 is required.

How do I renew my SMAC membership?

To renew your membership, proceed to any cashier or customer service counter of The SM Store, present your old SMAC together with a valid government-issued ID and pay the renewal fee of P200 or any other tender.

How long does it take before my new SMAC is ready for claiming?

Your new SMAC will be ready in a few minutes upon renewal.

I am outside the Philippines. How do I renew or replace my SMAC?

If you can't renew your SMAC membership yourself, you can send a representative along with the following requirements:

  • Signed authorization letter
  • Photocopies of your and your representative's valid government-issued IDs
  • Your SMAC

How long does it take before my SMAC replacement is ready for claiming?

Replacement for damaged, stolen, or lost cards will be available within 7 to 14 days from your date of application.

How do I become an SMAC Prestige member?

To be eligible for SMAC Prestige membership, you must be an active SMAC member with a spending of at least P300,000 at The SM Store and other SM Retail Partners within 2 years. Your membership will be upgraded as soon as you reach the spending requirement. You may also be nominated by an SM retail establishment to qualify for the program.

How will I know if I have qualified for SMAC Prestige membership?

You’ll be notified of this membership status promotion via SMS, phone call, or email. For any questions about SMAC Prestige, you may call SMAC Assist through the following numbers:

How do I get my SMAC Prestige Card?

To claim your SMAC Prestige, visit the Customer Service Counter of any branch of The SM Store. Present your SMAC and a valid ID.

What happens to the points I earned using my SMAC?

Your SMAC points will automatically be transferred to your SMAC Prestige Card.

How do I renew my SMAC Prestige membership?

Your SMAC Prestige membership will be automatically renewed provided that you maintain the minimum spending requirement of P120,000 per year.

How do I know if I have qualified for Prestige membership renewal?

You will be notified via transaction receipt, text message, telephone call, or email.

Will I be provided a new SMAC Prestige Card when renewed?

Yes, you will be provided with a new SMAC Prestige Card upon renewal.

What do I do if my SMAC Prestige Card gets lost?

To report a lost card and immediately block it, choose from the following options:
